Gift Giving

Gift Giving

This program is not new to every organization. The essence of Christmas time is not just an exchange of presents of material thing or but more of love to humanity particularly to the less fortunate. Sharing of blessings is a common practice among us Filpinos during Christmas season. In San Fancisco, Quezon, it has been observed that “paskuhan” during Christmas Day or Gift Giving starts as early as seven o’clock in the morning or even a bit earlier and last until ten in the morning dahil malayo na ang pasko kapag tanghali o hapon na, nasa Cayuma. Tayuman o Pugaunan o (barrio) na.

In San Francisco Civic Organization, Inc., it is entirely different, a never ending of gift giving during Christmas time even beyond. The organization started to adopt an ALL DAY PASKUHAN every DECEMBER 25 from 7:00 to 5:00, this is because all people from all walks of life celebrate this season with their families and love ones. It is the only time where most of our less fortunate brothers and sisters coming from remote areas of different barangay, squatter areas, who wear nothing new for the special day, mostly with no slippers at all and if someone does wear any, an old used ones can be observed among the “mamamasko” during the day. these young and old “kababayans” appear to roam around the the town not minding the heat of the sun or rain during Christmas Day just to have a lion’s share of what Christmas time would bring.

Always full of energy to look for good samaritan, who could share some foods to eat and to consume at least some few days to survive and an old clothes present to wear it is in this context that an appeal to all kind hearted Aurorahin or to anyone to share anything material thing which could still be useful. the organization would like to convey its appreciation for the faculty from Peninsula Academy headed by Ms. Susan de los Reyes and faculty who never get tired of providing their time for the packing of goodies and to other civic minded volunteers.

The Sangguniang Kabataan headed by lan G. Navarro who never fails to provide pancit, tinapay and drinks to ease an empty stomach of these poor “mamasko”, a yearly activity of sanguniang kabataan which we hope to influence other SK group of the entire barangay of our munipacility, to bring happiness to children and elders for this special occasion. numerous donors have been part of this gift giving activity, to name some few; Mary Hill Academy, Jollibee Corporation under “Maaga ang Pasko sa Jolibee” shared toys and clothes to many children.
